Drawing From The Moroccan Landscape
With dramatic and varying (from molten rock formations, massive boulders that counter gravity, incredible gorges, river valleys, grand mountains) landscapes at hand, you will learn how to create perspective and depth, isolate design elements to elucidate three-dimensions, and "translate" light and shadow with line, tone, and color ... using pen, pencil, charcoal, and watercolor. From our base (perfect lodgings to take in the serenity and beauty) each day we venture forth to a different locale and challenge. Daily group "feedback showings" led by the instructor in addition to his one-on-one comments build on technique. By the end of this trip, you should have a collection of stunning works and fascinating experiences. Instructor is Peter Schroth, known for his fine landscape painting and teaching skills: his work is in numerous public and private collections, and he is the recipient of numerous awards. He teaches at The Cooper Union and The Art Center of the 92nd Street Y, both in New York City.
